About Benson
Benson knows what it feels like to sit where your student is sitting. A 2021 high school graduate, Benson went on to study at four universities across three countries - the University of Toronto, University College London, the University of Michigan, where he earned a B.A. in Psychology, and Harvard, where he completed a Master's in Education.
Before founding Lu College Consulting, Benson spent time in the classroom as a middle school teacher, working closely with hundreds of students and learning how young people think, what holds them back, and what helps them thrive. Long before this was a business, Benson was the person friends, siblings, and younger relatives called when they needed help with their applications. He was the one up at midnight, working through essay drafts, talking through school lists, and reminding them that they had something worth saying. Lu College Consulting was founded on a simple belief: every student deserves that kind of support, not just the ones lucky enough to know the right person.
